The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor is one of the principal administrative and academic offices of Chandpur Science and Technology University (CSTU). The office is dedicated to assisting the Vice-Chancellor in ensuring academic excellence, institutional governance, research development, and the effective implementation of the University's strategic goals.


The Pro Vice-Chancellor provides academic leadership by promoting quality education, strengthening research and innovation, supporting faculty and student development, enhancing national and international collaborations, and ensuring compliance with the University's statutes, policies, and quality assurance frameworks. The office also works closely with academic departments, institutes, administrative divisions, and external stakeholders to foster an environment of excellence, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.


The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor plays a vital role in formulating academic policies, facilitating curriculum development, encouraging interdisciplinary research, overseeing quality enhancement initiatives, and supporting the University's vision of becoming a nationally and internationally recognized centre of higher education, research, and innovation.


Professor Dr. Mohammad Lokman Hossain is the first Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandpur Science and Technology University, having assumed office on 23 July 2026. Before joining CSTU, he served as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Jagannath University, Dhaka. He earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Peking University, China, under the prestigious China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship and has established himself as a distinguished academic, researcher, and university administrator.


Professor Hossain has over two decades of experience in higher education, teaching, research, and academic administration. His research focuses on environmental chemistry, atmospheric pollution, climate change, organic pollutants, and sustainable environmental management. He has published 26 peer-reviewed research articles, authored a Dictionary of Chemistry, supervised numerous postgraduate researchers, secured several nationally competitive research grants, and actively contributed to academic governance and scientific advancement in Bangladesh.


As the inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lokman Hossain is committed to strengthening academic quality, fostering research and innovation, promoting digital transformation, expanding national and international partnerships, and developing a student-centred learning environment. Under his leadership, the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor is dedicated to supporting the University's mission of producing competent graduates, advancing scientific knowledge, and contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
