Winter Fest and Pitha Celebration in CSTU

With the theme “Savoring Tradition in Winter’s Warmth, Enlightening Souls in a Celebration of Knowledge and Culture." Chandpur Science and Technology University (CSTU) hosted its first-ever Winter Fest, Book Fair, and Pitha Festival. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and knowledge.
The festival took place on January 29, 2025 (15 Magh 1431 Bangla Calendar), Wednesday, at 12:00 PM. The honorable Vice-Chancellor of CSTU, Professor Dr. Payer Ahmed officially inaugurated the event. Following the inauguration, he visited the stalls showcasing traditional pithas and books and distributed winter clothes to 150 underprivileged individuals, adding a humanitarian touch to the celebration.
A total of 13 stalls were set up at the festival, including 9 pitha stalls and 4 book stalls. These stalls featured a rich variety of traditional handmade pithas and an impressive collection of books on literature, history, and technology. The participating departments included:

The pitha selection included Mug Pakon, Narikel Naru, Motichur, Shamuk Pitha, Booter Barfi, Kheer Patishapta, Laddu, Annada, Pudding, Jamai Pitha, Bou Sundori Pitha, Bhaja Puli, Chamshom Pitha, Nuner Pitha,Atom belpuri,Meyeder Mon Pitha,CG Comeback Pitha,Chandpur Special Elish Pitha, and Gajor Pitha.

The book fair was a major attraction, providing students with an opportunity to explore academic, literary, and cultural books. Discussions were held on literature, technology, and business, encouraging intellectual engagement.
As part of the festival, a best stall competition was held, and one stall was declared the champion for its creativity and presentation. The university also arranged special prizes for all participating stalls to encourage student engagement and cultural appreciation.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Mostafiz Ahmed, Lecturer of the CSE Department and Proctor of CSTU, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering a love for books, culture, and tradition among students. He expressed hope that similar festivals would be organized regularly in the future.
A Festival of Unity and Tradition
The event was made successful through the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty members, and university staff. Under the supervision of various committees, including the Pitha Festival Committee, Book Fair Committee, and Winter Clothing Distribution Committee, the festival became a melting pot of tradition, knowledge, and unity.
This grand celebration not only highlighted the rich heritage of Bangladeshi culture but also created a platform for knowledge-sharing and creativity among students. With the overwhelming success of this event, CSTU looks forward to continuing such vibrant cultural gatherings in the years to come.
